The Jamestown Sanitary District (JSD) Board of Directors officially adopted Resolution 26-218 on Thursday, July 30, 2026, terminating the district’s moratorium on new sewer connections.

During 2025 and 2026, the Jamestown Sanitary District (JSD) utilized Regional Early Action Planning (REAP 2.0) grant funding to execute targeted collection system assessments and infrastructure improvements. This strategic initiative directly mitigated stormwater inflow and groundwater infiltration, resulting in significantly lower influent flows to the JSD wastewater treatment facility.

The Jamestown Sanitary District extends its gratitude to the Tuolumne County Community Development Department for securing and administering the $2.66 million State of California REAP 2.0 grant. The district also recognizes the Tuolumne Utilities District for helping target these funds effectively, and Black Water Consulting Engineers, Inc. of Modesto for providing critical technical guidance.

Nick Rivera, the District’s Chief Plant Operator, and staff were instrumental in working with the contractors to determine the best methods and locations to increase the district’s system capacity. Quincy Yaley, former Community Development Director and Jaron Brandon District 5 Supervisor played instrumental roles in securing the REAP grant funding.

The district will evaluate future connection applications on a first come first serve basis.  Recently adopted new connection fees ensure that the rate payers are not impacted by new development.​​​​​​​
